First Group Graduates from Welder Apprenticeship Program
We are proud to say that Innovative Refrigeration’s Welder Apprenticeship Program has its first official graduating class! The group consists of three of our manufacturing shop foremen: Jonathan Fernandez, Leonard Scott, and Bernard Gaytan.
Debby Hopkins, who serves as Workforce Officer and Project Director at the Shenandoah Valley Workforce Development Board, came by our facility during National Apprenticeship week to recognize our graduates.
Since beginning our Welding Apprenticeship Program at the end of 2015, we’ve had three cohorts begin their training programs. This program requires 8,000 hours of classroom and on-the-job training. We’re looking forward to expanding our apprentice school to offer programs for electricians and insulators in the coming months. These new programs will help our team members learning on the job with their peers and grow in their careers at Innovative.
